The Primordial Wizards of Science and Medicine

In this category you must submit an essay explaining the nature of your Science or Medical project and how it will used to improve conditions in impoverished communities, or how it will be used to improve the environment, or, if it is a medical project, how it will address medical issues plaguing the Black communities, particularly mass outbreaks in Africa. It is not necessary to go into every detail of your project in your essay, just the over all idea of it. You must also explain why you should be chosen as a finalist to compete for a scholarship. Your essay must be limited to 500 words. All essays must be submitted by March 31, 2025.

If you are chosen to compete as a Primordial Wizard of Science and Medicine then you must be able to present your idea with a slide show or video. You must also be able to explain exactly how your project works, so it cannot be just imaginative. it must also be applicable in real life. When possible, you are encouraged to present a physical model of your project.

If a contestant does choose to present a physical model of their project, they must still submit slides, video or a 3D animation version that will be displayed on screen.

On the day of presentation, you will be expected to explain the details of your project such as its functionality, size, the materials that will be used to build/create it and exactly how your project will help the community and/or the environment. Each contestant will have approximately 6 minutes to present and explain their project. You may use a team to help with your project, but only the team leader can win the scholarship.
